ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate required with a minimum of three (3) years secretarial and/or office experience or comparable formal education.  At least one-year hospital experienced desired.
Demonstrates energetic, professional and friendly appearance.
Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, communication skills and excellent telephone skills.
Demonstrates ability to effectively handle sensitive and high stress situations.
Demonstrates excellent grammar, spelling, formatting and punctuation skills.
Demonstrates considerable initiative and ability to work independently.
Unit clerk skills and Medical Terminology recommended.
Position requires a high degree of confidentiality.
May be subject to elements of time pressure, constant interruption of activities and noise.
Must have basic typing ability (30 wpm) and good mathematical skills.
Microsoft Office package literacy required with demonstration of using Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint and knowledge in Outlook required. 
ORGANIZATION:  This position reports to the Director or Manager of the nursing unit/units assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Maintains Kronos time and attendance- Enter payroll or scheduling data and run reports requiring advanced knowledge of Kronos
  • Facilitates end user training as needed for Outlook and also Microsoft Office Package
  • Maintains staff attendance records and educates new employees on Kronos or other unit processes
  • Maintains appropriate levels of supplies for nursing unit, i.e., forms, education material, and general office
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and advocates to all staff
  • Creates and organizes data into either Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint. May also create custom reports as needed
  • Supports Managers with overall office coordination; schedules interdisciplinary, meetings, may develop agenda or take minutes
  • Coordinates Education/Travel
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist Professional Governance councils with secretarial support/location for meetings
