Job SummaryOperating Room RN II status is earned upon completion of cardiovascular or endovascular specialty team orientation and able to independently cover cardiovascular or endovascular on-call shifts. Education and ExperienceEducation:• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Certification, Licensure, Registration:
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required• CNOR certification within one year of hireWork Experience:• Previous operating room experience or completion of the MMC perioperative nurse residency program. Other Requirements:• Works collaboratively and effectively with all members of the assigned surgical team • Cares for patients of all agesKey Competencies and Skills

• Acts as a patient advocate to assess and identify needs of the patient.• Position and prepares the patient on the operating room table. • Observes surgery and provides assistance to the sterile team and anesthesia to meet the needs of the patient. • Supervises and directs patient care performed by non-licensed staff for assigned surgical patients. • Practices in accordance with the recommended standards of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and hospital policies.
