ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or GED equivalent required. CPR certification required at or during probationary period.
Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred. Current CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
Upon hiring you will be scheduled for an onsite hemodialysis training program that includes both course work and hands on skills. You will learn entry level skills that is necessary to provide a safe dialysis treatment. Within 18 months of successfully completing our training program you will be scheduled to take a nationally benchmarked exam, initial testing is paid by the facility. Upon successfully passing the exam you will become a certified dialysis technician.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Lifting up to 50lbs.
Performs duties that are required to prepare the equipment and supplies for the dialysis treatments.
Accesses the patients vascular access.
Initiates, monitors and discontinues the dialysis treatment
Reports abnormal findings to the registered nurse
Cleans, disinfects and rinses dialysis machines according to protocol.
Prepares dialysis machines and related equipment for hemodialysis treatments per facility procedures.
Troubleshoots machine alarms as appropriate.
Safely operates all dialysis-related equipment.
Completes job duties as assigned (completes job duties accurately and within standard time frames).
Works with other staff members in a cooperative and efficient manner to provide the optimum environment for providing quality services. Supports other employees and team members.
Complies with all safety education/policies/regulations.
