Master of Science degree in Nursing
Board certified and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan.
Credentialed as an Allied Health Practitioner by the Munson Medical Staff, with privileges in Neonatology
Candidate must apply for and be granted appropriate clinical privileges through MMC’s normal credentialing processes before rendering services
Prescriptive authority is provided by unit-specific specialty physicians, under the
Michigan Board of Nursing and DEA regulations.
Neonatal transport experience preferred.
This is a self-directed professional practitioner with the ability to make independent judgments in providing direct patient care
The NNP is accountable, and directly responsible to the Medical Director of
Neonatal Intensive Care Services, with a collaborative relationship with the
Manager of the NICU.
The NNP will serve as a resource person for the Pediatrician on-call staff, nursing staff and for the family practice residents on rotation in the NICU. They are expected to help with interpreting, explaining and demonstrating procedures and care plans.

Conducts comprehensive physical assessments of patients
Establishes medical diagnosis for common short-term or chronic health problems.
Orders and Interprets laboratory tests and performs diagnostic and invasive and noninvasive procedures.
