SUMMARY

The Regional Health Care Educator is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and continuation of clinical education activities that support nursing care in the Munson Healthcare South or East Region. This position is lead for new hire orientation for nursing (both RNs and Nursing Assistants/Patient Care Assistants/ED Techs) and initial competency education. The Regional Health Care Educator position is responsible to provide education and consultation for on-going competency assessment and verification. The Regional Healthcare Educator serves as the AHA Regional Site Coordinator for their assigned region. The position assists the Student Placement Coordinator for clinical nursing student rotation assignments.

WHATS REQUIRED
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Master’s degree in nursing education required, or Bachelor’s degree in clinical nursing or related field with a minimum of four years healthcare educator experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a bedside RN capacity required; healthcare educator experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in adult learning principles, continuing education, curriculum and program development, nursing career development, and leadership.
  • Experience influencing change in a collaborative environment without formal authority. 
  • Required to be a highly skilled and experienced professional RN who can assume leadership responsibility for the South or East Region’s education and training needs.
