SUMMARY
Under the direction of the HR Directors & Sr HR Business Partners, the HR Business Partner-Employee Relations is responsible for serving managers in providing consultation on the full spectrum of employee relation issues, Level 1 and collaborates to manage Level 2’s and intro period terminations. Supports the HR Directors and Sr HR Business Partners with all employment related activities and special projects as directed. Identifies HR Patterns and trends and manages other HR standard work.ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology or related field and 3 years of experience employee relations issues/investigations or 3 years of progressive human resource experience required.PHR/SHRM-CP Certification strongly preferred.3+ years of HR Business Partner/Generalist/management experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Demonstrated work experience and ability to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.Demonstrated and proven excellent communication and organizational awareness skills.Demonstrates advanced computer skills and ability to learn and to adapt new computer systems.Demonstrates excellence in relationship building, professionalism, and confidentiality.ORGANIZATION
This position works under the supervision of the HR Director, Business Partner, and HR Sr. Business Partner. SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of Munson Healthcare.2. Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare with a focus on True North.3. Promotes personal and patient safety.4. Always uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills.5. Continues to develop competency in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.6. Continues to develop knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.7. Consults with leaders and employees regarding policy interpretation and application, the corrective action process, manages all level 1 employee relations issues and supports management of employee relations issues Level 2 and introduction terminations.8. Under the direction of the HR Director, BP and HR Sr BP will assist with all employee relations issues, case management, collection of information and data, investigations, and terminations.9. Consult and manage risk and liability in all employment related matters, raising critical issues to the appropriate HR leader.10. Assists HR leaders with HR projects as assigned.11. Processes unemployment claims and protests while submitting timely responses to the State of Michigan. Assists in the preparation of witnesses and documentation for unemployment hearings as well as assists with hearings as appropriate and directed.12. Manages Voice Reports by conducting thorough investigations, case management, guidance to leaders and employees and keeps the Voice Management System up to date with appropriate documentation.13. Responds to all HIPAA, EMR, and Voice investigations and documentation into multiple MHC systems.14. Enters all corrective actions and collaborates with others in HR to ensure appropriate and accurate data and employment related information is contained in the HRIS.15. Assists with names changes, subpoenas, requests for information or releases of information.16.
