Applicants can learn more about the sign-on bonus and qualifications when connecting with a recruiter.****This position will float between all nursing units at POMH: ER, Acute Care, Recovery Room, Infusion Clinic, and Cardiac Rehab. It will also include House Supervisor shifts.****

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2015, it is required to obtain a BSN within 5 years of start date.

Certification in the specialty area of practice is strongly encouraged.

Is a self-directed professional with the ability to make independent judgments directing patient care.

Demonstrates ability in using the computer with Windows format preferred.

GENERAL NURSING POSITIONS: (Acute Care, Venous Access Specialty, Recovery Room, Respiratory Therapy)

Two to 3 years RN experience in an AcuteMedical/Surgicalsetting is required.

Experience in Intravenous Therapy is desirable.

Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of employment.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT/HOUSE SUPERVISOR POSITIONS:

Three to 5 years RN experience in an Acute Medical Surgical setting is required.

Previous experience in a charge nurse/supervisory role is strongly preferred.

Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.

ORGANIZATION

Accountable to the Director of Clinical Services or designee of the assigned patient care unit; ultimately accountable for the practice of nursing to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Provides direction to and supervision of LPNs, Techs, Clerks, CENAs, and/or other categories as needed.

Works collaboratively and effectively with all members of the Patient Care Team and other Clinical and Ancillary Services Departments.

Age of Patients Served is dependent on the specific populations cared for on the Unit.

In partnership with Munson Healthcare (MHC), Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital (POMH) and POIMH Nursing work together to provide superior quality and promote community health.

1.  Assessment

Collects health data in a systematic and ongoing manner involving the patient, family, and other health care providers as appropriate

Determines the priority of data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs

Documents relevant data in a retrievable form

2.  Diagnosis

Derives diagnoses from the assessment data. Validates with the patient, family, and/or other healthcare providers and documents

3.  Identification of Outcomes

Involves the patient, family, and other healthcare providers in formulating outcomes from the diagnosis that are individualized and includes a time estimate for attainment

Determines outcomes that are culturally appropriate, realistic, attainable and measurable

Documents expected outcomes as measurable goals

4.  Planning

Individualizes a plan of care with the patient, family, and other health care providers that prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes

Develops a plan of care that establishes priorities, provides for continuity, and is documented

5.  Implementation

Implements the plan of care in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner and documents interventions

Coordinates and collaborates in care delivery

Employs health teaching and health promotion strategies

6.  Evaluation

Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes and includes the patient, family, and other health care providers as appropriate

Documents the patient's responses to the interventions

3.  Education

Participates in ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues

Complies with mandatory continuing education requirements to maintain licensure and meet job requirements

Complies with annual mandatory competency activities including Healthstream modules

Seeks experiences that reflect current clinical practice in order to maintain current clinical skills and competence
