What’s Required:
The employee must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing, therapy or social work; minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in Hospice or Home Care; and management experience required OR
A health care/human services professional with at least 8 years of health-related experience, 2 years in Home Care or Hospice; management experience required as well as the knowledge and ability to effectively administer the Hospice services.
Prior Palliative Care experience preferred.
Proven knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations required.
Experience working with terminally ill patients and their families.
Demonstrated ability to lead/supervise others and to work effectively with persons of varied backgrounds and educational experience.
Specific Duties
Establishes the budget and organizational plan and monitors business operations
Ensures organizational compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Makes decisions regarding hiring, termination and corrective action while ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing.
Represents program in the hospital and in the community, locally, regionally and state-wide to ensuire program growth.
Ensures that appropriate service policies and procedures are developed and implemented to accomplish identified outcomes.
Ensures that interdisciplinary care is provided and promoted by the structure and systems.
Ensures that hospice personnel stay current with local and national clinical practices, issues and trends.
