Description

Munson Healthcare’s Home Medical Equipment staff helps connect our patients with all types of medical equipment and supplies including wheelchairs, oxygen, or diabetic testing supplies. Our staff is responsible for providing prompt and courteous delivery service and making sure the patients are safe and comfortable by offering instructions on the proper use of prescribed equipment. Retail stores are open to the public in Cadillac, Gaylord, Manistee, and in Traverse City.

What's Required:

• High school graduate, associates degree in business preferred
• Prior customer service experience required with experience in healthcare, specifically durable medical equipment preferred.
• Experience with Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance coverages
• Working knowledge of medical terminology

Specific Duties:

• Assists walk-in customers with retail sale orders
• Maintains showroom inventory and presents a well organized retail area.
• Collects payments from customers, balances cash box daily and prepares bank deposit.
• Answers incoming phone calls, logs the calls. Takes customer orders and keys order into computer as appropriate. Responds to customer questions and concerns.
• Obtains insurance information and verifies coverage according to company guidelines and prepares appropriate documentation for billing.
