Job Summary
The On Call Chaplain position entails:
1) Covering 1-2 nights a week on call from home 7pm-7am.
2) One weekend a month on call from home Friday 7 pm. – Sunday 7 pm.
3) Available as needed, and on occasion to work during a weekday and visit patients and respond to pages and phone calls.
Education and Experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Min/Preferred Education Level and/or Years of Experience Comments
Required Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology
Required Experience working with patients and family members having a health crisis as well as death and dying experience
Preferred Master’s Degree of Divinity or equivalent
Preferred Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Preferred Hospital Chaplain experience
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION
Min/Preferred Certification, Licensure, Registration Comments
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Meets MMC established requirements for proof of health status.
• Good standing with candidate’s denominational authority.

Essential Duties
• Provides spiritual care of patients/families/caregivers in the inpatient setting when needed and appropriate services are rendered in a timely manner.
• Responds to emergencies, trauma and end of life needs as requested.
• Provides direct spiritual care to patients/families/caregivers when local clergy are not available.
• Documents direct services.
