What is a Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist?
Polysom Sleep Technologists are healthcare professionals who conduct patient sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders by monitoring brain activity, breathing patterns, heart rate, and muscle movements while they sleep.

Munson Healthcare has expert, experienced sleep medicine specialists and accredited Sleep Disorders Centers located throughout northern Michigan in Cadillac, Charlevoix, Grayling, Kalkaska, Manistee, and Traverse City.
You will work side by side with leaders that mentor and teach new skills fostering creativity and growth for future promotional opportunities within the organization.
About Residency Program:
- Selected candidates will be offered a position as an Unregistered Sleep Tech in a full time 16/40-hour flexible schedule on rotating shifts (first, second, third) and will become actively enrolled in the AAMA A-Step Module program.
- The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AAMA) A-Step program is an online program and will be funded through Munson Healthcare Tuition Reimbursement Program.
- A-Steps online learning modules will be paired with hands-on training under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Sleep Technologist or Sleep Disorders Provider.
- Training will take place in Traverse City and Cadillac Sleep Labs; the candidate must be willing and able to travel between both locations for varied shirts and times.
- At the end of the program, the employee will be eligible to sit for a credentialing exam to become a Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT, BRPT or RST)and will agree to work as a Registered Sleep Technologist for Munson Healthcare for a two-year period.
Requirements Munson Healthcare is seeking in this career minded individual:
- HSD or GED
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2 or more years of healthcare experience
