POSITION SUMMARY
As a Chargemaster Coordinator, this position leads the Revenue Integrity Chargemaster Team. This team works with revenue producing departments to maintain chargemaster data utilizing professional medical coding standards and guidelines. Responsible for oversight of pricing logic analysis, departmental reviews, compliance with governmental regulations, and billing support. This position involves advanced problem-solving, data analytics, and routine customer service interactions with Munson Healthcare employees or contractors. Coordinates interdepartmental workgroups and embraces a continuous improvement philosophy to further the goals and vision of the organization.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field required.
Registered Nurse license preferred.
Three to five years of credentialed professional medical coding experience (CPC or RHIT) required.
Previous experience in chargemaster development, hospital revenue cycle procedures and working with third-party payors is preferred.
Ability to demonstrate competency with a standard computer desktop and Windows-based operating system: including an advanced understanding of email, e-learning, internet, and computer navigation. Must have the ability to learn, access and utilize relevant computer programs and applications. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
Must possess effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with diverse populations.
ORGANIZATION
Reports to the Manager of Revenue Integrity.
AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED
No direct clinical contact with patients.

Assist in the development and maintenance of the Revenue Integrity Intranet page.
Responsible for routine maintenance of the healthcare system charge to ensure accurate coding, consistency in billing and compliance to all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Oversight for routine benchmarking studies for competitive healthcare system pricing.
Keep current with Federal regulations and requirements as applicable across the healthcare system to identify necessary chargemaster changes and facilitate resolutions.
Work to identify lost opportunities for reimbursement and implement corrective actions.
Work closely with Patient Financial Services and clinical department teams to resolve issues related to CPT/HCPC codes, revenue codes, billing edits.
Facilitate and/or implement process improvement. as it relates to Chargemaster Team initiatives.
Initiate and participate in interdepartmental work groups to promote and facilitate standardization across the healthcare system.
Daily oversight of Chargemaster Team including chargemaster change requests, pricing, coding and data integrity.
Develop, implement, and maintain Chargemaster Team standard work documents.
Function as system administrator for chargemaster maintenance applications.
Provide ad hoc reporting of chargemaster data as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
