A Day in the Life
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Coordinates special projects with the EVS Department.
- Contributes to the team orientation of new EVS co-workers. Is responsible for proper communication with all other departments as needed. Contributes to the team communications between MMC and our subsidiaries.
- Motivates, encourages, praises, communicates, prioritizes, delegates and plans work flow throughout team members, other departments and Munson subsidiaries.
- Determines and coordinates with shift manager’s priority of work activities in keeping with departmental goals and best interests.
- Assists director and managers with coordinating team and problem identification/resolution meetings.
- Acts as a resources person regarding questions related to departmental operations issues. Directs inquires to appropriate personnel.
- Interviews in person or by phone, patients and relatives with EVS concerns.
- Orders supplies, monitoring supply inventory and maintains monthly and year-to-date supply records.
- Facilitates departmental phone calls, request for service, work requests, documents and disposables request as needed.
- Performs any other clerical duties relating to this job as directed by the director or managers of EVS.
- Monitor billings from outside vendors for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinates with director and shift managers JCAHO requirements and updates and keep employees informed on updates.
- Maintains and updates department policy/procedures.
- Maintains department credit cards usage and month end audit.
- Responsible for coordinating all meeting rooms cleaning/all setups.
- Coordinates removal of furniture and equipment with Facilities Department. Maintain records of removal.
- Coordinates removal of general waste, bio-waste and recyclables with outside vendors and creates monthly reports as needed (SWEC meetings). Coordinates Radiology film barrel removal.
- Coordinates Re-useable sharps containers program.
- Monitor Kronos for all 3 shifts, enters PTO tome as appropriate. Assist co-workers with questions regarding timecards in Kronos.
- Maintains keep records of attendance for days, afternoons, midnights, and MCHC employees.
- Communicates with payroll regarding employee wages and hours, return to work, and other payroll matters as required.
- Facilitates Bed Tracking System program
- Coordinates Pest Control Program
- Coordinators battery universal recycling program
- Assist EVS co-workers to be compliant with HealthStream for employees with limited communication skills
- Coordinates EVS fleet vans for service.
- Coordinates and schedules appointments, meetings, and programs for the EVS leadership team and other hospital personnel or committees, as appropriate; preparation of handouts, equipment and room set ups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What’s Required
- Associates degree in Business preferred, relevant experience would be acceptable in lieu of degree if the candidate has a minimum of five (5) years previous healthcare office experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
