A Day in the Life
As a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) this position is responsible for safeguarding public health, safety, and welfare by designing, analyzing, and stamping engineering projects. The core duties include sealing technical documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing projects, inspecting construction, and conducting, evaluating, or approving engineering designs, calculations, and specifications.
The daily activities include but are not limited to software use in all design disciplines, use of the building control systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, maintaining drafting standards, familiarity with plotting and scanning drawings, file storage and archiving for all projects. Assists with value engineering for budgeting purposes.
Plan review and evaluation of designs provided by others. This position is also responsible for maintaining life safety drawings at all facilities owned by Munson Healthcare.
What’s Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 6 years progressive experience with an architectural/engineering firm
- 2 years experience on hospital projects
- Professional Registration in Michigan required; EIT status will be considered
- Experience with AutoCad Light required.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
